Training
I have been developing and delivering business-related training and learning solutions for over 20 years. I am a life-long student with a passion for learning, and that passion fuels my work as both an instructional designer and a classroom instructor.
I am a certified MadCap Flare trainer, developer, and consultant. I can help clients set up Flare projects, import content from other applications, and develop strategies for single-sourcing with Flare.

Solutions
Training isn’t always the answer to a business problem. When asked to develop training, I first try to determine whether training is the appropriate solution. A full-fledged training course may not be necessary. In some cases, a simple job aid may suffice. In other cases, product redesign may be required. No amount of training can compensate for bad design.
Effective training starts with sound instructional design. I have designed learning solutions for a number of clients:
- CareFirst BlueCross and BlueShield:
Developed and delivered training for customer service representatives. - Fannie Mae:
Developed web seminar content for Flexible 97 and 100 mortgage products. - Foley & Lardner:
Conducted orientation training and trained staff during a large-scale software rollout; developed ad hoc training and reference materials for legal staff and user groups. - The National Cancer Institute:
Developed an introductory course for managing grant information with Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer®. - The National Science Foundation:
Developed Flash tutorials for a proposal management application. - Sprint/Nextel:
Designed and taught a course on network troubleshooting and problem resolution management. - Tamaroff Associates:
Taught public classes in various off-the-shelf software applications; developed a two-day public course on creating templates and macros for Microsoft Word. - The United States Mint:
Developed a training course for the PeopleSoft® Projects Module. - The World Bank:
Provided oversight in the development and delivery of an enterprise-wide desktop rollout; led a team of ten trainers in the implementation of the SAP materials management module; provided coaching and mentoring through train-the-trainer and writing workshops; developed a handbook for using World Bank technology and facilitated technology orientation sessions; developed concise training sessions for a correspondence management system; designed and taught a workshop on writing effective FAQs.
